Punch Needle

Embroidery with hollow needle is simple and fast. This needle has a thicker tip (Ø5 mm), so it is suitable for working with knitting yarn and decorating sweaters or other knitted products. The needle is only inserted into the material, it is not threaded through. It should be perpendicular to the fabric when embroidering. The yarn you will be embroidering with is threaded using a long threader. It is embroidered by piercing the fabric and pulling the needle back just above the material, moving the tip a little in the direction of embroidery and repeating. Try not to pull too much on the yarn or the stitches will fray. As long as the whole motif is not stuck from the back, for example with vlizelin, it can all evaporate at once, it is not fixed in any way from the back. Yarn suitable for this technique and embroidery hoops can also be found in our offer. The yarn used in the illustration photos is Softfun. As an embroidery fabric, we recommend using linen or another fabric with a classic linen weave. Traditional embroidery fabrics (canvas/panama) are unsuitable for this technique, the loops in them are harder to hold due to the fact that the fabrics are hardened.
